Retelling Ghosts of Young Nick's Head

Thunder and lightning strikes across the veranda. The window is creaking and shaking. Eddy flips his page in his Harry Potter book. Suddenly the light starts to dim then BANG! the light shatters into the darkness. Eddy lets out a little scream. Then they hear a creaking coming towards the bedroom. “Who is it?” They get no reply as Joe and Eddy start to hide. Then they knock a potato sack all of the floor. The dim light of the fire starts to glow. The shadow starts to get closer. The boys close their eyes. Then a sudden gust of wind hisses and heaves through the house. The boys open their eyes. The black outline of the figure is gone. Eddy yells “Did you see how close we were to dying!”

Joe replies "Yeah” as he lets out some tears.

They look out the window The rain plunges down on the rugged paddock. As the boys analyze the room in the darkness they can tell it was an aged worn out room. Joe says to Eddie “No wonder this place is haunted.” Joe replies.
"We don’t know for sure if this place is haunted.” Eddy says.

"Look out at the cliff face." the boys say as the water splashes up over the rocks. “So what are we going to do with no power?” Joe says to Eddy.

“I don’t know.” Eddy shouts back.

“Will this rain ever end Eddy?” Joe speaks.

“Yes of course it will!” Eddy says.

Then the boys hear somebody coming up the stairs. “Who is it?" they shout...

Using E books

Today we created adobe acounts. It has a libary and we are able to get books out online. We can reserve books without even getting out of our seats! It is the future! Room 10 and room 6 are first to sample the website.  I can't wait till we get more books!

I can taste fresh air lurking

5 Senses writing

I can taste the fresh air lurking. I can hear birds chirping to their families. I can see horses with their silky brown furry mains. I can touch the electric fence  and get a shock. I can smell Horse poo whiffling through the air. Blue sky overgrown tree top canopies  over a house across from school Te Mata the sleeping giant laying there dead. I hear a plane swooping over my head. Smokey grey sky not rain clouds, something you don't see everyday. I can feel the sun beating down on my neck making me get burnt. I see nature roaming the earth. The horse is running up and  down like a lunatic getting chased with a hammer. I can see cliffs off the side of Te Mata peak.

I see and feel Pollen in the air. I see cars driving on Howard street, Spider webs spun on the long wet brown grass. Silence around the environment.

Autumn leaves falling to the ground.

Marcus: hey what was your favourite part of a birthday in the life of Ozzie Kingsford book?

Ben: My favourite part is when they crash the car, What was your favourite part of the book?

Marcus: My favorite part of the book was when Ozzies father was head butted by that goat, HA HA HA!

What we thought about the book.

Marcus: It was coming with sudden things that you didn’t know it would happen.


My favourite role for the story would have to be illustraiter because I loved drawing pictures of parts of the book.

My letter to Ken Catran

Dear Ken Catran

Hi, I’m Ben Hibbs and I go to Parkvale School Hastings New Zealand. Last week my class finished reading Dead Harry and I thought the book was fantastic! My favourite part is where Harry puts his eyeball into the chocolate wrappers because that is my type of thing. We got a few frights at the end of the chapters and wanted our teacher to read more, but he made us wait till the next day for the next chapter.

My favourite character is Harry. I like Harry because he does tricks on his mate Sam and that made me laugh alot. I think it was funny when Harry was inside the chocolate wrappers and said “I can’t eat chocolates anymore”. I laughed and thought you are so funny Harry.

I really enjoyed Dead Harry!

This is a story called the bull run. A kid called Ben tries to take a short cut knowing theres a bull he could not hear the bull so he cut through and got into trouble meeting the bull he ran back and got all muddy.
