Persuasive writing

Persuading can be a very hard thing to do. So you have come to the right place. Here we can tell you the the best places to advertise. For your new product of walkie talkies, you should use TV. Its a lot fairer and most people have working TV.
TV is much fairer unlike other internet pop ups. Websites are fair but pop up adverts are not. If you want fear advertising to sell your products TV is the way to go! The internet has no rules so people trick you into downloading and buying their products which automatically gives them all your details so now they can hack you with a computer virus. You don’t want your product advertising being able to be sabotaged through hackers. On TV people will see your walkie talkies and they will think “Hmmmm Christmas is soon, I could get some for the kids.”  So they are a great idea

This is a great example of what your TV advert could look like. This is a very good advertisement that would make you wanna buy these walkie talkies. “These walkie talkies are great for hide and go seek and go up to 300 metres away in range. So these are an amazingly good option for presents.” “If your kids love playing army these are also really good for using imagination.” Imagine all the people wanting to buy your walkie talkies. You will turn into a millionaire! Imagine the sales. your products will be going out the door like crazy!

So advertise on the TV not the internet, this is a much fairer way without getting internet bugs like viruses. These walkie talkies last for hours. So this means hours of fun. They are waterproof and are great for having a picnic lunch down at the park. Even playing spot light at night without shouting out to your friends and giving your spot away.

These are the best walkie talkies all round and they are a great price. Get them now. For your kids Christmas presents. They are not just for the kids but they suit adults too!

My journal of the production

13/8/14
Dear Diary, let me introduce myself. My name is Ben and my role in the production is part is Korito. So far my favourite thing in the production is Ezra and his walk in thunderstruck, it makes me laugh. On Friday we are going to do a rehearsal and it is going to be really good. My favourite thing about being in the production is learning the legends and the history. Our story in the production is called The 7 Whales of Wairoa. I am nervous about my lines,  I know them all though. I am a little bit annoyed though with the shark group being silly all the time. I am really sad about being turned to a hill at the end. Also I almost forgot that one of the class axolotls is named after me. Korito sounds a bit Mexican though. I feel famous now though. I am not looking forward to doing the production infront of all the parents.

HOLT PLANETARIUM VISIT

Something I enjoyed was looking at mars

    because it looked bright.

Something I found interesting was their toileting

    because it sounds weird.

The most exciting thing about space is zero G’s

because I could break world records of the biggest back flips

I would like to learn more about planets.

“How do stars in the universe have an impact impact on us?”
I want the rest of my inquiry topic to be about: The life span and heat of stars.

I can taste fresh air lurking

5 Senses writing
I can taste the fresh air lurking. I can hear birds chirping to their families. I can see horses with their silky brown furry mains. I can touch the electric fence  and get a shock. I can smell Horse poo whiffling through the air. Blue sky overgrown tree top canopies  over a house across from school Te Mata the sleeping giant laying there dead. I hear a plane swooping over my head. Smokey grey sky not rain clouds, something you don't see everyday. I can feel the sun beating down on my neck making me get burnt. I see nature roaming the earth. The horse is running up and  down like a lunatic getting chased with a hammer. I can see cliffs off the side of Te Mata peak.

I see and feel Pollen in the air. I see cars driving on Howard street, Spider webs spun on the long wet brown grass. Silence around the environment.

Autumn leaves falling to the ground.

What is the difference between area and perimeter?

This is the perimetreter. The difference between perimeter and area is perimeter is the outside of the shape or building or anything really, even a farm paddock has a perimeter and area

This shape has an area of 25 metres squared. We used the site Maths dictonary for kids

This part is showing you all the angles of perimeter so you can figure out the angles using a protractor

This is another part showing the perimeter what do you think the anwers are? Add them in your comment.

To worrk out area you do lenth X width for an example 3 lengh and 5 width.

My letter to Ken Catran

Dear Ken Catran

Hi, I’m Ben Hibbs and I go to Parkvale School Hastings New Zealand. Last week my class finished reading Dead Harry and I thought the book was fantastic! My favourite part is where Harry puts his eyeball into the chocolate wrappers because that is my type of thing. We got a few frights at the end of the chapters and wanted our teacher to read more, but he made us wait till the next day for the next chapter.

My favourite character is Harry. I like Harry because he does tricks on his mate Sam and that made me laugh alot. I think it was funny when Harry was inside the chocolate wrappers and said “I can’t eat chocolates anymore”. I laughed and thought you are so funny Harry.

I really enjoyed Dead Harry!

Yours sincerely,
Ben Hibbs

Dragon writing

WALA Sentences

Once upon a time I had a dragon land on my finger. It breathed out fire.  I named him Timmy. And he was a silly billy. He flew through my bedroom window. Maybe the last of the species. I gave him some raw fish. But he cooked them with his fiery breath. One day he burnt the house down. Oh Timmy, I sighed. When we moved to a new house he ate more and more food. And water as if it was real. I think that Timmy is a beautiful dragon. But a silly billy. He has sharp cone shaped claws and bat shaped wings, so swift through the wind as he flies around the property and Timmy brings not very nice surprises around the property like, birds butterflies although the nextdoor cat was happy. We built a room of steel. I keep my dragon in the steel room so he can't catch my house on on fire.

Wildebeest writing

This is my Wildebeest writing. We used an app called I fake text. I like how i'ts like an I-phone. Here is my writing below

“Lets cross the island” said Munchin.
“No there is a crocodile in the water!” says Crackers
They start arguing, “Its a log” snorts Munchin.
“No a Crocodile,” said Crackers.
“I will kick it then”  Munchin says to Crackers.
“I will stand on it” said Crackers.
He goes and hops on...“Maybe you are right says Crackers.

CRUNCH! “Crocodile” Says Munchin.
Another Wildebeest comes along “is that a log”
“NO!”
To be continued...

Suddenly An Earthquake!

The earthquake!

The earthquake this morning was huge. I am really freaked out because there will probably be another earthquake later I hope it won't be huge because of all the families with kids who need to get under the table. I need to get an emergency bag ready in case of a bigger one later. I rush and make sure I know where torches are.

Finally dinner. There had only been a few unnoticeable earthquakes. I got calmer there had been no more earthquakes. We had been checking on Geonet Its a handy website to see if there is an earthquake.  By bedtime there were no more earthquakes. I could go to sleep and rest.

Thanks for reading my writing
